Houston Worker Support Hub

• For Fan Fest Staff, the planning committee has provided an Onsite Worker Support Hub. The hub will offer workshops, training, upskilling opportunities, a worker satisfaction survey, and the ability to file a complaint. 

• The hub is located in the worker cafeteria next to the Houston Fan Festival. 

Wage and hour violations / misclassification

• Workers experiencing wage and hour violations or misclassification can contact the Onsite Worker Support Hub team to file an intake form.

Discrimination and/or harassment

• FanFest Workers experiencing Discrimination or Harassment can contact the Onsite Worker Support Hub to file an intake. 

Health and safety

• Texas does not have a state level Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) plan. Private sector workers are covered by federal OSHA rules.

Heat Protection: There is no state-mandated occupational heat protection.

• Workers Defense Project (WDP) is a statewide, member-led organization that organizes with those most impacted for immigrant and worker justice in Texas. WDP started in 2002 to support construction workers fight wage theft and quickly evolved into an organization dedicated to fight for worker Justice in Texas. WDP is now a power building organization with statewide impact that is organizing for worker and immigrant justice at the local, state and national level. (website)
